I first made this recipe in a high-school home-ec class, and it has been a family favorite ever since! Delicious apricot preserves paired with oats and almond extract make this a "betcha can't eat just one" dessert bar!

1-3/4 c. quick oats
1 c. flour
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. almond extract
1/2 c. margarine
1 - 12 oz. jar apricot preserves
1 c. flour
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. almond extract
1/2 c. margarine
1 - 12 oz. jar apricot preserves
Grease and flour a 9" square or round pan.
Stir together oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder and almond extract.
Cut in margarine until coarse crumbs form.
Press 3 cups of the mixture into prepared...
