So I recently joined a freezer meal group in my neighborhood- once a month we will be getting together and each person prepares 5 meals of the same freezer meal. We then swap meals, sending each lady home with 5 different meals, ready to eat in a matter of minutes! Brilliant!
So here is my recipe for this month:

Baked Ziti {Freezer Meal}

1 pound pasta, plain, cooked ( ziti (or really any kind of pasta would work- I actually used Penne pasta) )
1 onion ( chopped )
1 pound ground beef, 95% lean meat ( (season with pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and minced garlic) )
52 ounces spaghetti sauce ( 2 jars at 26 ounces each (I added a zucchini to my sauce just for more veggies!) )
1/2 pound provolone cheese ( 8 slices )
1 1/2 cups sour cream
6 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated

    So with this, I usually cook the noodles (but only for about 7 minutes instead of the whole time it recommends to cook them) and then assemble the ziti in a freezer-safe container (I just use those aluminum pans from the grcoery store). It will last in the freezer for about 30 days, after that is starts to go a little funky.
    When you are ready to eat it, pull it out of the freezer and place in the fridge for 24 hours to thaw it. You can thaw it in about 8-ish hours (give or take) if you just place it on your counter to thaw. By that time, it should be mostly thawed and you can just cook it for the regular time called for in the recipe. :) Hope this helps.

    Would you bake then freeze and reheat on what temp? Or would you layer and freeze then bake when ready to eat?

    LOVED and so did my whole family! And I was so excited that it makes 2 batches so I have one meal ready to go in my freezer!
