The other night, after we finished our bourbon chicken, I wanted dessert. I checked the cupboard for a brownie mix but I didn't have any. Then I remembered that I had saved a recipe Macaroni & Cheesecake posted last month called Better Than Box Mix Brownies. I glanced over the recipe, realized how simple it was, and decided to give it a shot. I'm really glad I did. I had never made brownies from scratch but I doubt I'll go back to the box mix. 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
2 1/4 cups sugar
4 large eggs
1 1/4 cups cocoa powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (Ghiradelli baking chips, per usual. I only used 1 cup)
