A delicious protein-packed meal, this chili is my family's favorite dinner! Serve over some brown rice, and you have a perfectly balanced meal.

Ingredients

1 pound ground chuck ( 20% fat )
1/2 onion ( brown, chopped coarsely )
1 Can (8 oz) canned tomatoes with green chilies
2 Can (8 oz) Kidney beans, red ( make sure they don't have any sugar added )
1 tablespoon Canola oil
3 tablespoon chili powder ( )
1 tablespoon ground cumin ( )
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon cardamom ( ground )
to taste salt & pepper
to taste cayenne pepper ( if you like your chile spicier... )
to taste brown rice, cooked ( or white rice, to accompany the dish )
