Decadent chocolate brownie with tart cherries and chocolate ganache.

Brownie Base:
2/3 cup butter, softened
1 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
2 eggs
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 cups whole fresh cherries, pitted
Ganache:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
