Delicious Monkey Bread that tastes like a cherry pie is smothered in a creamy chocolate sauce

1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
2 packages of regular Pillsbury Grands biscuits
1 stick of butter (1/2 cup)
1 tsp almond extract
1 can of cherry pie filling
1/2 cup of brown sugar
