Easy Christmas cookie recipe is just like grandma use to make & the perfect baked gift.
½ cup shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1-3/4 cup all-purpose flour
½ tsp salt
½ tsp baking soda
½ cup cocoa powder
¼ cup milk
30 large marshmallows - cut in half
Frosting
2 cups confectioners sugar
4 tbsp (1/2 stick) butter - melted & cooled
¼ cup cocoa powder
¼ cup milk
¼ tsp vanilla extract
holiday sprinkles - opt.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper & set aside
Cream shortening & sugar until fluffy
Add in egg & vanilla - beat thoroughly
