Elvis Presley Cake: One of the most delicious things you will EVER put in your mouth. Oh yeah, it's that good! You'll come back here and thank me for this one!

1 (18.25 ounce) package white or French Vanilla cake mix
1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple with juice
1/3 cup white sugar
2 T. cornstarch to thickened,
2 T. butter

Frosting:
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1/2 cup butter, softened
4 cups confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
1 cup maraschino cherries (optional)
Prepare cake according to instructions on package. Bake in a 9x13 inch pan. Allow to cool. Combine pineapple and sugar in saucepan. Add cornstarch until thickened. Then swirl in 2 T butter to make it silky and rich. Bring mixture to a boil. Spoon over the cooled cake.
