1 1/2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts, diced into 1-inch pieces
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup flour
salt and pepper
2 egg whites
2 Tbsp oil
For the sauce:
2/3 cup hoisin sauce
6 Tbsp rice vinegar
6 Tbsp soy sauce
4 Tbsp packed light brown sugar
4 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, or to taste
1 tsp cornstarch (if making on the stove)
