My Favorite White Icing

I now use powdered egg whites for safety reasons. I love this icing because is is not overly sweet.

2 egg whites
2 cups 10x sugar
1/2 cup Crisco
dash salt
2 Tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Beat egg whites until stiff, slowly add 10x sugar a little at a time, then blend in other ingredients. I sometimes add peanut butter to make peanut butter frosting. I start out with about 1/2 cup and keep adding until it tastes like I want it.
