3 and ½ to 4 pounds plums, washed, sliced in half, and pitted (leave skins on)
½ to 1 cup water
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground cardamom
½ to 1 cup water

Place plums in crockpot with water.
Simmer on low heat for about 1 to 2 hours, stirring about every 30 minutes to encourage the plums to break up.
