Fudge brownies topped with a red velvet cheesecake swirl

1 box brownie mix (9x13 pan)
2 packages cream cheese, softened (8 oz. each)
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 Tablespoons sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup dry red velvet cake mix
1 cup Red Velvet M&M candies (optional)
Cool Whip
