Salisbury Steak with Caramelized Onion Gravy

One of my favorite beef dishes is Salisbury Steak with Mushrooms, So I am sharing this recipe with you today, this is so good over old fashioned mashed potatoes or noodles with sides of home style veggies and you have a down home cooked meal to satisfy the beast of hunger.

Ingredients:
Onion Gravy
2 large red onions, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 cups low-sodium beef broth
1/2 cup dry red wine (optional)
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon cider vinegar
Salt and pepper
Meat Patties
1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 clove minced garlic
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
3 tablespoons chopped parsley
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1 tablespoon olive oil
