Soft Snickerdoodle Cookies

My sweet visiting teacher brought me these delicious cookies, and my kids said to me, "Mom! You have to get this recipe!" So I did. :)

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups flour
2 tblsp sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon

Beat butter on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar, baking soda, and cream of tartar; beat together. Then beat in egg and vanilla extract. Add flour 1/2 cup at a time, beating in between. Dough is thick....
