Very Veggie Pasta Salad

Very Veggie Pasta Salad is a quick, simple and healthy side dish, lunch or snack recipe. No mayo means it's perfect for picnics, the lake, car trips & BBQ's. It is best served best at room temperature as great accompaniment to anything your putting on the grill.
1/2 box (approximately 6 oz.) whole wheat penne pasta,
12 oz. broccoli florets (approximately one head, chopped into florets)
1/2 bag (approximately 5 oz.) matchstick carrots (you can buy carrots and julienne them yourself or be lazy like me and just buy the precut bags at the store…your call)
1/2 cup light Italian dressing
1/3 cup parmesan cheese
1/3 cup cilantro, chopped
1 tsp. crushed red pepper flake (more or less depending on preference)
sea salt and fresh ground pepper to taste.
12 oz. broccoli florets (approximately one head, chopped into florets)

Cook pasta al-dente according to package instructions. Two minutes before the pasta is done throw the broccoli and carrots into the boiling water.
