Bucket Pickles

Real Easy and Real Yummy Fridge Pickles!

4 cups Sugar
2 Cups White vinegar
2 Tbsp pickling salt
1 tsp tumeric
1 tsp mustard seed
1 tsp celery seed
1 large red pepper, thinly sliced
1 large green pepper, thinly sliced
1 large onion, cut into thin slices
5 cups thinly sliced cucumbers
Measure first 6 ingredients into an ice cream bucket, stir well Add the peppers and onion Fill bucket to the level of liquid with the cucumber slices Let stand for two hours. Then stir down. ( you can usually add more sliced cucumber) Cover and store in refrigerator for up to 6 months Yield: makes about 2 quarts
