Chinese Tea Eggs

5 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
4 cups water
4 tablespoons Chinese tea leaves (black tea, oolong, or pu-erh)
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
1 teaspoon 5-spice powder
1 star anise
1 cinnamon stick
5 cloves
3 inches orange peel
1 teaspoon baking soda
4 cups water
4 tablespoons Chinese tea leaves (black tea, oolong, or pu-erh)

3 inches orange peel
Place the eggs in a saucepan, then fill the saucepan with enough water to cover the eggs by about 1 inch.
