Chocolate Chip Jumbles

1 package chocolate chip cookie mix or use your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe
1/2 cup seedless red raspberry jam

Here's my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe:
1 c sugar
1 c vegetable shortening
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/4 c all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions:
Cream together sugar and shortening until fluffy. Add in eggs and vanilla.
Slowly add in flour, soda, and salt. When those are combined, add in the full bag of chocolate chips.
2 Drop teaspoons of dough onto a greased cookie sheet or a sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes.
The cookies should be barely beginning to brown on the edges.
Let sit on the baking sheet for 1 minute, then remove to cooling racks.
These will not spread out like some chocolate chip cookies.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare chocolate chip cookie mix as directed on package. Reserve 1/2 cup dough. Spread remaining dough into an ungreased 9" square pan.
Spread jam over base.
