1 pound boneless pork chops
1/4 cup flour, unbleached or all-purpose
1 large egg + 1 tablespoon water, beaten
1 cup plain bread crumbs, whole wheat
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup olive or vegetable oil, or enough oil to cover the bottom of a large frying pan
