Easy Prune Nut Braid

This recipe makes a wonderful fruity bread that can be eaten as a dessert. Filled with fruit and topped with sugar icing, make sure to make enough for seconds.
1 package hot roll mix
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted and cooled
1 teaspoon grated orange peel
3/4 cup canned prune filling
1/4 cup chopped pecans
Confectioners' Icing

Prepare hot roll mix according to package directions. Add butter or margarine and orange peel and mix well.
Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled, about I hour. On lightly floured surface, knead dough about 1 minute. Roll dough to a 12-inch square. Cut into 3 strips.
Spread 3/4 cup prune filling down center of each strip. Sprinkle evenly with nuts. Pinch dough up around filling to form 3 ropes.
Place on a greased baking sheet and braid the dough. The pinch the ends together. Cover this dough and let it rise until almost doubled, about 40 minutes.
Bake at 375 degrees till done about 25 minutes. Glaze while warm with confectioners' icing and decorate with red sugar and pecans, if desired.
Serve warm.
Confectioners' Icing: Combine 1 cup confectioners' sugar, 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons milk, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Mix till smooth.
