Gourmet Arroz con Leche (rice with milk)
142
This is a traditional dessert in Chile, but this is the grown up version everybody loves in My house. The upgrade on the ingredients is not mandatory and maybe if you don't find palm syrup you can use another sweetener, as plain sugar like the original recipe.
6
1 cup regular rice
1 cup warer
1 lt milk or soy milk
1/2 cup palm syrup
1 tea spoon chai mix
Dry fruit or raisins to garnish
1 cup warer
1 lt milk or soy milk
1/2 cup palm syrup
1 tea spoon chai mix
Dry fruit or raisins to garnish
Wash the rice in a colander until water came clear.
Let it rest with a cup of boiled water for 30 minutes.
Cook with the water until it evaporates, mix it all the time with a wooden spoon.
Add the milk, syrup and chai mix made out of equal parts of grounded cloves, grounded cinnamon, grounded black pepper, grounded nutmeg, and two parts of sugar and instant tea.
Mix the pot all the time for approximately 20 minutes or until the desired consistency.
Enjoy it cold with dried fruit or raisins. I recommend to serve it on martini cups.
