12
Crust:
1 tsp salt
2 cups flour
2/3 cup solid shortening
6-7 Tbl ice water
Filling:
5 medium sized apples (I like to use different kinds for more flavor)
1 cup sugar
3 Tbl flour
2 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbl butter
1 tsp salt
2 cups flour
2/3 cup solid shortening
6-7 Tbl ice water
Filling:
5 medium sized apples (I like to use different kinds for more flavor)
1 cup sugar
3 Tbl flour
2 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbl butter
Preheat oven to 400. Mix salt, flour, and shortening until smooth. Then add water and roll into a ball. Cut in half, roll out bottom and place in pie dish.
Add butter on top of the filling. Roll out other half of dough and place on top. Cutting slits in the dough to release steam and pinch edges together to decrease leaking. Place in oven and bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes, at 375 for 20 minutes, and then at 400 for 10 minutes. Always leaving the pie in the oven. Remove from oven, let cool, enjoy!
