Chicken is slow roasted with a spice rub served with baked and tasty acorn squash.

5 pound roasting chicken
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon ground rosemary
1 teaspoon olive oil
2 whole acorn squash, halved
4 teaspoons butter or margarine, melted and cooled
salt and pepper to taste
