Ever wonder how to make homemade onion rings?! These are my favorite kind because I can add whatever spices I’d like to them…you know, you could even add brown sugar to make kind of a sweet and salty flavor. I definitely recommend using the sweet yellow onions as these have a really good flavor and not too strong to eat by themselves. You may even be able to get the little ones to try these because they taste to much better than just plain onions (although I love those too! icon wink Homemade On
1 large or 2 small Sweet Onions
1 1/2 cup Flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Cayenne Pepper
1 Egg
1 1/2 cup Buttermilk
1/4 cup Water
3/4 cup Bread Crumbs
Salt to taste
1 quart Vegetable Oil for frying
1 1/2 cup Flour

Cut onions into 1/4 inch slices and separate into rings.
Place onions in a bowl.
Add buttermilk and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
Heat the oil to 365-370.
