A delicious hot trifle with peaches, custard and meringue

1 Jelly Roll, store-bought or my recipe
1 (10.5 oz) can peaches in light syrup, drained
2 tbsp. birds custard powder
2 eggs, white and yolks separated
1 tbsp. sugar
2 cups 2% fat milk, divided
2 tbsp. confectioners sugar
