Minced Beef and Potato Curry

Depending on your preference you may want to add more water to have a more moist curry or if you prefer a drier Kheema Aloo cook it, uncovered, until most of the water is gone.

1kg lean minced beef
2 medium onions, chopped finely
60ml vegetable oil
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
2 teaspoons ginger, minced
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
Approx ½ teaspoon red cayenne powder (more or less to taste)
1 tablespoon ground coriander
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons garam masala
salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
5 medium potatoes diced, preferably parboiled
handful of coriander to garnish
150ml water
