Patti's refrigerator garlic dill pickles
136
My family loves crisp crunchy pickles, we eat these by the bowl full.
6
2 pounds cucumbers (best if on the small side)
1 large bunch fresh dill
1 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup rice vinegar
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
3 Tablespoons coarse salt
4 cloves garlic, smashed
2 teaspoons celery seed
1 large bunch fresh dill
1 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup rice vinegar
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
3 Tablespoons coarse salt
4 cloves garlic, smashed
2 teaspoons celery seed
Heat water and vinegar in the microwave or stove top just until warm. Add salt and sugar, stir until dissolved. Put cucumbers in a covered container to go in the refrigerator, add the rest of the ingredients and stir to combine. These are ready to eat in as few as 6 hours but get better if left go for a day or two. We usually can\\\\\\\'t wait that long. I hope you enjoy these as much as we do. We have a garden and I keep adding more cucumbers every day, today after 5 days I am going to have to add more vinegar, I added more dill and garlic yesterday. So you can keep this going for quite a while.
