Pennsylvania Dutch Pie Crust

A great pie crust recipe from the Amish region.

3 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups shortening
5 Tablespoons water
1 egg
1 teaspoon vinegar
Sift flour and salt, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Beat water, egg and vinegar together; stir into flour mixture. Shape into a ball. Chill until ready to use.
