Bean and Basil Pesto Penne #MeatlessMonday

Creamy mashed beans and basil top whole wheat penne pasta for a #MeatlessMonday easy meal.

1 cup canned cannelini beans, rinsed and drained
1/2 cup fresh basil
1/4 cup vegetable broth
1 ounce almonds
1 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
8 ounces whole wheat penne pasta, cooked
Combine beans, basil, broth, almonds, oil, and garlic in the bowl of a food processor. Process until smooth. Toss with hot, cooked pasta. Serve with garlic bread and tossed salad.
