This cake is a Southern staple! Moist butter cake with a ribbon of spicy nuts and brown sugar, topped with a rich glaze. The perfect accompaniment to a cup of coffee!

3c flour
1/4t baking soda
1/4t salt
2 sticks salted butter, at room temperature
2c sugar
6 eggs
1c sour cream
1 1/2t vanilla
3T cinnamon
3T brown sugar
1/2c chopped pecans
in a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. beat in the eggs one at a time, then blend in the sour cream and vanilla. add the flour, soda, salt. mix until well blended. Pour half batter into greased & floured 10" tube pan. sprinkle with cinnamon, brown sugar and nuts. Pour in remaining batter. bake at 350* til a toothpick comes out almost clean, about 60-75 minutes. cool before drizzling with vanilla glaze if desired. for vanilla glaze mix 1c powdered sugar with 1/2t vanilla and 1-2T milk. glaze should be thick enough to pour.
