SOFT WHOLE WHEAT PRETZELS

A happy accident, these whole wheat soft pretzels have great texture and flavor and are slightly healthier!

1 1/2 cups warm water (about 110 - 115 degrees)
1 tbsp sugar
2 tsp salt
2 1/4 tsp rapid rise yeast (bread machine yeast)
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3 cups while whole wheat flour
4 tbsp unsalted butter melted
vegetable oil to grease the bowl
ADDITIONAL ITEMS NEEDED

10 cups water
2/3 cup baking soda
1 egg
2 tbsp water
coarse salt
