This is a family receipe that my grandma sold for a living in her restaurant in Indonesia. It uses a blend of herbs and spices to make a hearty soup!

Spices:
Blend of the below spices
1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon of Coriender
1/2 teaspoon of cumin
5 cloves of garlic
3 candle nuts
3 Tablespoons of cooking oil
1/2 cup milk 2%
5 tablespoons coconut milk
1 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste.
Meat:
1/2 lb lean beef roast
5 bay leaves
1 tablespoon of galaga (grated)
1 large shallot (chopped finely)
Emping (optional)
Blend of the below spices
1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon of Coriender
1/2 teaspoon of cumin

1/2 cup milk 2%
5 tablespoons coconut milk
1 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste.
Meat:
1/2 lb lean beef roast
5 bay leaves
1 tablespoon of galaga (grated)
1 large shallot (chopped finely)
Emping (optional)
Cut beef into one inch cubes and boil them in 3 cups of water with bay leaves, galaga and chopped shallots. Let them boil until the beef tender, or about an hour.
In a frying pan, heat cooking oil and blend in nutmeg, pepper, coriander, cumin, and garlic until golden brown over medium heat. Pour in coconut milk and milk, and stir them until well mixed.
Once the meat is tender, stir in milk mixture and add sugar and salt.
Heat for an additional five minutes before serving with Emping on top and steamed rice on the side.
