Spritz Butter Cookies

This is a yummy butter cookie recipe my Grandma handed down. I use it with a cookie press, but you can also roll in a log and cut in slices. We love to add food coloring and at the end, mix all the leftover dough to make rainbow cookies!

1-1/2 c. butter
1 beaten egg
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder

Thoroughly cream butter and sugar. Add egg, almond extract and vanilla. Beat well. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Mix to smooth dough. Add food coloring if desired. Use cookie press to place cookie dough on ungreased cookie sheet or roll into logs and cut slices to place on cookie sheet. Bake at 400ยบ for six to ten minutes.
