4 cups flour
2 eggs
1 2/3 cups milk (lukewarm)
1/3 cup fresh yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
2 cups ham (shredded)
2 cups cheese (shredded)
2 tablespoon sour cream
1 cup oil (for frying)
2 eggs
1 2/3 cups milk (lukewarm)
1/3 cup fresh yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
2 cups ham (shredded)
2 cups cheese (shredded)
2 tablespoon sour cream
1 cup oil (for frying)
1. Combine yeast, milk and sugar. Let it stand for a few minutes until yeast activates.
2. Mix flour, salt, eggs (beaten) and yeast with milk and knead the dough until smooth and elastic. Let it rise for about 40 minutes.
3. Reknead the dough and than roll it using a rolling pin to 1/5 inch thickness.
4. Combine ham, cheese and sour cream. Add some salt and spices to taste.
5. Place a spoonfull of the filling over the half of the dough (as shown on photo). Fold the other half of the dough over the filling. Cut out donuts using a cookie cutter or a water glass (a little wider than the area covered with filling). Reknead the remaining dough and repeat the procedure as many times as necessary.
6. Heat the oil over the highest temperature into a deeper pot, than turn to medium temperature and fry the donuts 1-2 minutes each side.
7. Serve warm with yogurt or sour cream.
Note: You can use any filling you want - mushrooms, meat (cooked and shredded), vegetables...
