Its a simple snack that not only taste's good.but fills the house with seasonal smells.

6 MacIntosh apples
3/4 cup water
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1tsp lemon juice ( fresh squeezed)
pinch salt
pinch allspice
1/2 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup water

Peel and core apples.Place all ingredients in a large pot on medium/high heat.Bring to a low boil for 10 min,stirring often.Reduce heat to a simmer for an addittional 20 -25 min,until apples are cooked down.THATS IT!
