This is easy and the flavors jump off the plate. It takes 30 minutes. The perfect weeknight lasagna, Garfield would be bumping his head against your leg, I promise :)

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 1/2 lb ground beef
1 yellow onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, pressed
1 28oz can diced tomatoes
1 15 oz can tomato sauce
2/3 cup water
4 tablespoon fresh parsley, divided
2 teaspoons dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1 tsp granulated sugar
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
12 dry lasagna noodles, each noodle broken crosswise into 2-inch pieces
1 1/2 cups Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
1 cup ricotta cheese
10 basil leaves, chopped
1 1/2 lb ground beef
